Laquan McDonald is yet another victim of police brutality, when Chicago police officer, Jason Van Dyke, murdered 17-year-old Laquan in Chicago in 2014. The police dashboard camera video showed Van Dyke opening fire on Laquan immediately after stepping out of his vehicle. He continued shooting him as he layed on the ground. Like most police officers trying to cover up their mess, Van Dyke lied about what happened. The footage contradicted the police report which said that McDonald, who was holding a knife, lunged at Van Dyke before he started shooting. This shows how some police officers are willing to lie, cheat and steal to protect themselves and their reputations. They do not care for the lives they have taken or the people closes to them. During court, a Chicago judge acquitted three police officers for trying to cover up the murder. And, as most police officers do when they are guilty of something, they try to get out of the situation. The police officers defense was that the video only showed one side of the situation. Jason Van Dyke was sentenced to 81 months in prison for his crimes and deserves to be punished. Any police officer who takes a life of anyone with out good intentions should not serve our country.
